On Monday, 18th August, members of the Ancre Somme Association Charity were delighted to attend a special reception hosted by the Lord Mayor of Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council, Alderman Stephen Moutray. The event was held in recognition of the recent League of Mercy award presented to the charity's chairman, Mark Jameson.

The reception provided an opportunity for the Lord Mayor to formally acknowledge the outstanding contributions of Mark Jameson and the Ancre Somme Association Charity to the local community. The League of Mercy award, a prestigious honour, celebrates exceptional voluntary service and dedication to charitable causes.

During the event, Alderman Moutray praised Mark Jameson for his unwavering commitment and leadership, highlighting the positive impact the charity has made in preserving history, and fostering community spirit.
