The Ancre Somme Association Charity invites you to our Service of Thanksgiving for the life of Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II. Marking the 70th Anniversary of her Coronation in 1953.
The service is being held on Sunday 10th September 2023 at 3pm in St Marks Parish Church, Portadown.
We are honoured to have the Reverend William Orr officiating at what will be a very dignified, and respectful service, in memory of Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II. Music will be provided by the Northern Ireland Military Wives Choir.
Queen Elizabeth II died on the 8th September 2022 having served as head of state for the UK and numerous other countries in the Commonwealth for 70 years—the longest-reigning monarch in British history.
The Service of Thanksgiving will include bible readings, songs, poems and congregational hymns, expressing thankfulness for the life of Her Majesty. Tributes will also be made highlighting her commitment to the Armed Forces, her faith and to the 70 years of service she gave.
“I declare before you all that my whole life whether it be long or short shall be devoted to your service and the service of our great imperial family to which we all belong.”
We would be honoured if you would join us as we give thanks for the life of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
Please note that this service is by invite only and we would ask that you register in advance if you plan to attend.
